Ronny is the quintessential "Goth", never smiling and wearing dark clothes with dark spiked hair. He is disengaging and says very few words in conversation. He respects the Taylors, but isn't interested in engaging with them in any way.
Tim and Jill worry about Ronny's influence on Mark, especially after he and Mark make a horror movie about an ignored child who turns his parents and older brothers into zombies and chops their heads off. After initial heated discussions, Mark reassures his parents that the movie is not reflective of how he feels about his life. Later, Mark and Ronny form a grunge band and practice in the Taylor's garage.
Ronny appears to have normal parents, and they appear as patients of Jill when she is in a family counseling internship as a school requirement. At first, she is unaware they are his parents, but she declines to counsel them after Ronny enters the room.
