Twas the Night Before Chaos is the thirteenth episode of the fourth season. Originally aired on December 13, 1994 on ABC in the United States.
Synopsis[]
Marty and his wife and kids, and Jill's parents come to visit for Christmas. However, Jill's parents, Col. Fred and Lillian Patterson are quarrelling constantly, and are clearly having marital problems. As the Colonel is now retired from the Army, Lillian wants to spend more quality time with him, and maybe do some traveling, but all he wants to do is seclude himself in their den and watch old war movies, like Patton. In Jill's attempts to intervene, she only makes things worse between her parents.
Meanwhile, Tim prepares for a battle of Christmas decorations against his neighbors.
